Carla joined Esse Health in January 2002. She passionate about serving patients and embraces every encounter as an opportunity to learn and grow personally and professionally. Her career in medicine includes experience in the management of emergency departments, urgent care centers and critical care units. Carla completed the Doctorate Program in Nursing at St. Louis University with a research focus in diabetes. In 2012 she was promoted to Vice President of Clinical Programs and serves on the Esse Health Community Outreach Committee.
In 2010 she was also named one of the St. Louis Business Journal’s Health Care Heroes in the nursing category.
Ms. Beckerle has been awarded Recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the American Diabetes Association for patient care in Diabetes. NCQA, in partnership with the American Diabetes Association, developed the Diabetes Recognition Program to recognize clinicians who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high quality care to patients with diabetes.
In 2006 Carla was a part of the Diabetes Disease Management team that was awarded with the Primaris Quality Award for professional accomplishments in quality improvement and active collaboration with Primaris to improve healthcare in Missouri.

Carla has a loving, supportive family, including two grandchildren whom she adores. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, singing, volunteering, antiques, and traveling.
Carla has also volunteered for several local and international medical mission trips to help serve those who do not have adequate access to medical care.
