ST. LOUIS – Several St. Louis-area Esse Health offices are currently holding flu clinics for patients to receive the seasonal flu vaccine. Esse Health’s board-certified physicians follow the Centers for Disease Control’s recommendation that everyone six months of age and older should get the flu vaccine.

The offices currently offering flu clinics and the vaccine are: Esse Health Creve Coeur Pediatrics; Esse Health O’Fallon Pediatrics; Esse Health Physicians at St. Clare; Esse Health South County Internal Medicine; and Esse Health Tesson Ferry Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.  Getting the flu vaccine is the best protection against the seasonal flu, which is a contagious respiratory illness caused by flu viruses. Approximately 5-20 percent of U.S. residents get the flu each year, according to flu.gov, a website managed by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The flu season is typically in the fall and winter, occurring as early as October.
