ST. LOUIS – Esse Health physician Eldon Trame, M.D., was recently named President-Elect of the Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) and will be inaugurated as the organization’s President in April 2013. (A photo of Dr. Trame is available here:

Dr. Trame is a board-certified internal medicine doctor at Esse Health Belleville Internal Medicine in Belleville, Ill. He has been a practicing internist in Belleville since 1985.

A member of ISMS for more than 20 years, Trame has served on its Board of Trustees since 2002. In addition, he currently serves on the Committee on Finance & Medical Benevolence and the CME Accreditation Appeals Panel, and as an alternate delegate to the AMA. Trame holds memberships in the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society, the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association, where he has served as state chair of the Organized Medical Staff Section. Trame also is active in the St. Clair County Medical Society, serving as president in 1995 and as chair of the Membership Committee in 2004. In 2000, he was president of the Southern Illinois Medical Association.

Trame graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed his residency at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis. He has been awarded Recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance and the American Diabetes Association for patient care in diabetes. The Diabetes Recognition Program recognizes clinicians who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high-quality care to patients with diabetes.
