ST. LOUIS –Esse Health  On Saturday, May 9th, employees, family members and patients of independent physician group Esse Health walked to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke and promote walking as part of a healthy lifestyle.  In addition to being a sponsor of the American Heart Association’s 2015 Metro St. Louis Heart Walk, Esse Health registered more than 200 walkers and raised more than $11,000.00 to support cardiovascular research and educational programs for the St. Louis community.

“It’s a privilege to be part of the Esse Health American Heart Association Heart Walk team.  Heart disease and stroke impact all of us.  Through events like the Heart Walk we can make a difference.  Education and research funded by the American Heart Association is working to build healthier lives,” said Mike Castellano, Esse Health CEO and AHA St. Louis board member.

The Heart Walk is held nationwide in an effort to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.  The money raised goes toward cardiovascular and heart disease research and the promotion of heart health around the country.
