ST. LOUIS – Independent physician group Esse Health today announced the promotion of Carla Moore Beckerle, DNP, ANP, APRN-BC, to Vice President of Clinical Programs. CEO Mike Castellano made the announcement.

Beckerle previously served as the Director of Clinical Programs, overseeing the company’s home health, skilled nursing facility and hospital case managers, dieticians, intensive outpatient care program case managers, and wellness team. She works as a nurse practitioner at the Esse Health Florissant Internal Medicine office once a week. Beckerle also functions as a case manager with patients that are part of Esse Health’s Compassion and Resources at Esse Health (C.A.R.E.) Program.

“Carla has made a huge impact on our clinical programs and the patients that these programs serve,” said Castellano. “Her passion for helping people with chronic illnesses and those who need more medical assistance is unwavering and inspiring. She believes in a team approach to health care and providing a medical home to all of our patients, especially those in our clinical programs.”

In 2010, Beckerle was selected as one of the St. Louis Business Journal’s Health Care Heroes in the nurse category. She recently earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from St. Louis University School of Nursing, where she previously earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing. Beckerle is a member of the Diabetes Coalition, addressing access to diabetes education and serving as the Chair of the St. Louis Advanced Practice Group for 2012-2014. She is chair of the logistics committee of the American Diabetes Association’s St. Louis Step Out Walk for 2012 and she serves as a clinical Preceptor for Advanced Practice Nursing students.
