ST. LOUIS – For the third year in a row, the Esse Health Tesson Ferry Pediatrics & Internal Medicine office made the holiday season a little brighter for 30 children throughout the St. Louis area. The employees made blankets and bundled them with teddy bears before donating them to SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, Lemay Child and Family Center, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C Headquarters.

One Esse Health employee suggested Cardinal Glennon because a friend’s son currently receives treatment at the hospital for a tumor. She learned that many children’s parents and family members cannot always be with them while they stay at Cardinal Glennon.

Lemay Child and Family Center was selected for its work in providing high-quality early childhood education in a warm and caring environment. The center’s goal is to strengthen families by promoting children’s healthy physical, cognitive and social-emotional development and by partnering with parents and community. The bears and blankets were given to children at the center’s Breakfast with Santa.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol deals with traffic stops and accidents, which can involve young children as passengers. Giving the troopers teddy bears and blankets to share with these kids provides some comfort in a potentially scary situation.
